Most monitoring systems fail quietly. A sensor stops reporting, a battery runs low, a connection drops — and everything looks fine, right up until it isn’t.

We started 3AM Labs on a simple premise: silence should never be mistaken for safety. A monitoring device that can’t tell you it’s failing is worse than no device at all — it’s a false sense of security with a warranty card.

So we build devices that watch themselves as carefully as they watch what they’re measuring, and that speak up — at 3am, on a holiday weekend, whenever it happens — the moment something changes.

The device checks in on a schedule, whether or not anything is wrong — a quiet heartbeat that proves it’s still working, not just still plugged in.

If the heartbeat stops, that itself is the alarm. A missing check-in is treated as a possible fault, never as "probably fine."

If the device faults internally, it recovers on its own — and reports that it had to, so a problem that fixed itself doesn’t just disappear from the record.

Everything is logged, timestamped, and retained — even through a connectivity outage — so the record you're asked for during an inspection actually exists.
